Welcoming New Lecturer Curran Muhlberger

Curran Muhlberger has joined Cornell Computer Science as Lecturer this fall. After earning bachelor’s degrees in Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy at the University of Maryland, he completed a Ph.D. in Physics at Cornell. He has worked at NASA and SpaceX and written software to support the Fermi space telescope, the Crew Dragon spacecraft, and LIGO’s search for gravitational waves (with Cornell’s Bethe Professor of Physics and Astrophysics, Saul A. Teukolsky). His computing interests include high-performance computing, numerical methods, and digital multimedia, and he looks forward to contributing a new perspective to research efforts within the department, presently assisting Associate Professor David Bindel’s group with optimizing stellarators. This semester Curran is teaching “Introduction to Computing Using MATLAB” and “Short Course in MATLAB” in conjunction with Senior Lecturer Daisy Fan.
