Six Computer Science faculty have been selected to receive 2016 Google Faculty Research Awards:

- Mor Naaman (Cornell Tech)
- Adrian Sampson
- Immanuel Trummer
- Robbert van Renesse
These Awards are very competitive and CIS faculty had a 45% award success rate (about 30% higher than the average success rate). Google maintains strong ties to academic institutions worldwide pursuing innovative research in core areas relevant to their products and services. Google Faculty Research Awards identify and strengthen relationships with faculty working on problems that will impact how future generations use technology.
