The annual ACM/IFIP/USENIX Middleware conference is a major forum for the discussion of innovations and recent advances in the design, construction and use of middleware systems. PhD student A. Efe Gencer was selected for the best student paper award at Middleware 2015 for the paper "Configuring Distributed Computations Using Response Surfaces," written with Professors David Bindel, Emin Gün Sirer, and Robbert van Renesse.
