Serge Belongie and co-authors received one of two runner up awards for best paper at HCOMP 2015, a major conference on human cooperation, computation, and crowdsourcing.
The paper, "Tropel: Crowdsourcing Detectors with Minimal Training" includes experiments with images of birds, fashion, and street-level photographs of Paris, was by Genevieve Patterson (Brown), Grant Van Horn (CalTech), Serge Belongie, Pietro Perona (CalTech) and James Hays (Brown).
